Faithfulness of God - TEN Countdown #5

Do you remember the day you came to Christ? Or even better the moment Christ called you to be His precious child?

Recently my mom found the prayer I prayed in 1989 at Vacation Bible School at the church I grew up in. She had written it down on an index card after I had prayed to Jesus asking Him to forgive my sins and wanting to be saved by Him. I knew I became a Christian when I was a child, but couldn’t remember the year or how long it had been. What a joy it was to see it and have that specific date to savor the kindness and graciousness in the Lord for saving this soul.

I can certainly say that life has been a life of many ups and its many downs, as I think each of us can say. As I reflected that day on over 30 years of being a Christian, the one thing that stood out to me was God’s faithfulness. His faithfulness has stood out to me over these many years. He was always there! He is a faithful God, present and active in the lives of His children. He is faithful in and to everything He is involved in, His children and His creation.

The Bible is God’s book of love to a world that turned away. It’s his love letter to us, to call us back. While we are, or were, unfaithful, He remains faithful. He remains faithful to His plans and purposes. Paul tells us in I Thessalonians 5:24, “He who calls you is faithful; He will surely do it.” David says in Psalm 36:5, “Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.”

God displays His own faithfulness and will remain faithful to the end of days!
