God’s Glory in this Time - TEN Countdown #7

So this is #7 and part of the title is God’s glory. Please know that I do not think God’s glory is just ranked #7, it’s so much more, but just wait until we get to TEN #1 and you’ll understand. If there were a subtitle to this it would read “How do you glorify God?”

The overarching purpose of this post is to have you see God’s purpose in your own life. You see, your life is not just yours, nor do you live this life alone. Part of life is interacting with others, from saying “Good Morning” to someone as you grab your Starbucks, or even deeper relationships of marriage, family, and friends. Our lives have a purpose and a reason … to glorify the Lord.

Sometimes we need a storm to unveil how we are going to glorify God in our lives. Yes, there is a general glorifying God in our thoughts, speech, actions, and choices, but then God in His grace gives you a reason to specifically glorify Him.

I don’t mean to belabor a point throughout my website or life, but writing was my way to glorify God during and after the storm. For the most part, I had always enjoyed writing. I remember the fun of writing history essays in my 10th grade world history class. Like most, I enjoyed most writing what I wanted to write, and not always what I was told to write.

After the cancer though, the Lord laid it upon my heart to review the many thoughts and quotes I had written down throughout the storms. I never imagined writing a book, much less two, but God brought me to a place of understanding where those thoughts and quotes, like the cancer, were not just about me, but others. I enjoyed writing the two Anchored books and am amazed at how God has used those to come alongside those in their own storms.

I never imagined being an author, and I know I’ve got a long way to go to be a great writer. What purposes does God have in your our storm? Or if not in a storm your day to day life? There is purpose in all things touched by God!

Isaiah writes in 60:1, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” Humanity was created to glorify God and in my storm I realized that yes, day by day and moment by moment we go about our lives glorifying God with the way we live, and yet, His hand is upon you to glorify Him in the ways He’s created you to glorify Him.

How are you going to glorify God through your life?
