Praise the Lord - TEN Countdown #2

You know those people that think they’re hot stuff and super important? They talk about themselves and you think, “Hmm? Not so sure about what you’re saying about yourself.” or “There are 8 billion people in this world but please tell me again how important you are.” It’s like they expect us to bow down to them. I’m being a little snarky, but someone’s name just popped into your head that fits that description.

There is ONE though, that is worthy of our praise and absolute respect and that’s God! You and I are the same, we’re human. God is a kind all of His own, there is no one like Him anywhere. He is deserving of our praise!

I recall Exodus 15 and the Song of Moses and Miriam. I thought I had seen God work in my life, and I had, but read through verse 18 and get a taste of those who not only saw God, but Moses met and talked with Him. The second verse reads, “The Lord is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him.”

Do I just praise Him in my actions, my words, my deeds, and my life? Yes, in those things, but also in our inmost being. David writes in Psalm 103:1, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.” In the depths of who we are, praise the Lord. If you were to sit down and look at how God has worked in your life I would imagine that we could spend years praising Him for all He has done, and if not years than decades, and then when He calls us home, an eternity of praise. All for Him!

Praise the Lord, O my soul!
